This month I was invited to present to a group of business owners by inspirebiz where I introduce the Swiss Cheese model — why holes appear in our safety management systems and how we can prevent them happening.

As business owners having health and safety management systems in place is not just good practise it is our duty towards the welfare of our staff. We look at our moral obligations as well as the legal and financial, and the ramifications to a business of breaching HSE guidelines.
